FOOD PANTRY
Bernardine Center’s food cupboard supplies nutritious food to eligible families. If a family of four has a net monthly income less than $3,275 or an annual income less than $38,625 they qualify for supplemental food programs. The Center serves approximately 500 persons per month. Currently, 18 persons confined to their homes are also served each month. The Bernardine Center receives some of its food supply from government sources while a majority of food is donated by area churches, organizations and individuals by way of actual in-kind food or monetary donations. The Bernardine Center is a founding member of Delaware County Interfaith Food Assistance Network (DIFAN) that consists of twelve food pantries which work cooperatively to serve about 400,000 persons annually. Dedicated volunteers assist staff in distributing food to families.
